In 1991 after contracting glandular fever my problems began. I had acne, thrush that would re-occur and sluggish digestion. I came off the contraceptive pill in 1994 and this coincided with my health problems becoming worse. My skin problem was causing me most distress, this was a problem that teenagers suffered from not grown adults! I had what was classed by most dieticians standards a balanced diet. I drank loads of water so why was my skin so bad. Covering it up with makeup only made it look worse, and I was always conscious of how bad it looked.
I went to see my GP about the problem. He prescribed some anti-biotic's and some cream. This improved my skin condition for about two months but I still had terrible thrush and to top it all I was constipated for eleven days.
I had finally decided it was time to try another kind of treatment. I tried Homeopathy, reflexology, Kinesiology, Chinese medicine, Acupuncture and Western Herbalists. At one point I even tried colon ic irrigation. Some of these treatments worked for a while but the acne was resistant to them all. I tried an anti-Candida diet with hopes of curing the problem. Again this worked for about two months but the acne persisted.
In desperation at the end of 2001 I returned to my GP as I had some questions to ask.
Why at the age of 28 did I still suffer from acne?
Why had I never become pregnant, even though I had stopped using contraceptives including the pill since 1994?
Why did I always suffer from thrush?
And most importantly of all, why did I feel so awful?
I knew that there was an answer to my problems but what? I went for blood tests, urine tests and a pelvic scan. I was also tested for hormonal imbalances, diabetes and poly cystic ovaries. All the tests came back negative. Even though I was relieved that the tests were negative, it still did not solve my health problems.
A few weeks later in casual conversation with a friend she told me of Dr.Deepika who practices Ayurvedic medicine. I was interested to find out more, as this was one method of treatment I had not tried.
I made an appointment with the firm conviction that if I did not feel comfortable with the treatment I would not return. On my first visit I was anxious. I told Dr.Deepika what was wrong with me and she explained how the treatment worked and it's principles. She closely examined my skin and my stomach in various places. We then discussed my diet in its present form. She then looked at me and told me that I have a hormonal imbalance and that it could be rectified. Well I nearly fell off my chair! Finally someone had told that I could be helped! She went on to explain that my diet was incorrect, there was too much heat being created in my body by the types of foods I was eating. This extra bodily heat was manifesting itself in the ailments I was suffering from. This made a lot of sense to me. I was given a new diet to follow and some Ayurvedic herbal powder to take.
The next couple of weeks with the new diet were difficult. By the time of my second visit to Dr.Deepika the treatment was beginning to take effect, as I was feeling better. I continued to see Dr.Deepika who monitored my diet and provided me with a variety of powders, pills and lotions to take and use. After a period of two and a half months suddenly I felt alive. It is so true that you do not realise how awful you feel until you start to feel better.
This feeling continued until one day I phoned Dr.Deepika because I thought I had a bladder infection or something. She suggested I use a herbal remedy and told me to phone her back in a couple of days if the symptoms persisted. I did feel marginally better, but my friend suggested I do a pregnancy test as she had the same symptoms when she was pregnant. I did the test and to my astonishment it came out positive! I phoned Dr.Deepika to tell her the news and this time it was her turn to fall off her chair backwards!
So after nearly eleven years of suffering from acne, persistent thrush, digestive problems and unexplained infertility, I am free from acne and pregnant thanks to Dr.Deepika
I continue to see Dr.Deepika on a regular basis for follow up treatments and Ayurvedic massage to help me through my pregnancy.
There are many different "causes" attached to many different "symptoms". Find all your "causes" be patient. Listen to the advice and take your medicine. Try Ayurveda. It works!!!!
