Dr Deepika Rodrigo
Born in Sri Lanka, Dr Deepika Rodrigo spent much of her childhood and early years exploring and discovering the wealth of natural remedies found in her homeland of Sri Lanka. She went on to study for seven years at the University of Colombo earning a degree in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS). After graduation she worked as a full-time doctor in the Colombo's general Ayurvedic hospital.
In 1998 Dr Deepika Rodrigo moved to the UK where she practised Ayurveda from several well-known and respected natural health centres including the Kailash Centre of Oriental Medicine and the Hale Clinic London. She was also senior lecturer at the College of Ayurveda, Westminster University (now Middlesex University) where she trained many of today’s leading Ayurveda specialists.
Recognised as a major driving force behind the growing awareness of Ayurveda in the UK Dr Deepika Rodrigo now runs her own popular Ayurvedic clinic in South Croydon offering in-depth consultations and treatment as well as Ayurvedic massage and panchakarma. Over the years she has earned a particular reputation for her successful work treating infertility and women’s disorders.
As director of the Ayurveda Institute UK, Dr. Rodrigo teaches regular Ayurvedic massage and lifestyle courses and also lectures around the country to medical professionals, Ayurvedic consultants and those with an interest learning more about the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda.
