Kasa has five types.

  3. Kapha.
  4. Ksataja (caused by injury)
  5. Ksayja (produced by loss, reduction)

Types 4 and 5 are produced by aggravation of all the 3 doshas.

Because of its origin in the stomach; fasting or taking of gruel, fasting should not be carried out in VP & VK type kasa. In this case meat soups can be given, these are light for the digestion and nourishing. In the case of diseases originating in the stomach emetic therapy can be given.

In case of kasa, 2 days after origin, emetic therapy is carried out. This is particularly effective in kapha types of kasa. Emetic therapy is not carried out in the case of ksataja type of kasa (because of lung injuries). Neither is it desirable in ksayaja kasa cases.
